Tapping the time bubble above the timeline cursor normally brings the chart back to the current time. If nothing happens, the displayed GRIB is probably too old: it does not contain “now”.
The timeline only covers the period of the displayed data: that of the GRIB, extended where relevant to that of the visible routings. If only a GRIB is displayed, the timeline ends with the last day of that GRIB, and the cursor cannot go beyond it.
For example, it is 16 October and I am looking at an Arome GRIB file from 11 October. This model only holds 51 hours of forecast: the file ends on 13 October, so it does not contain the current time.
What can I do? Update the GRIB with the refresh button on its row in the GRIBs tab, or download a recent one.
Special case: if the current atlas or the rain radar is displayed, the timeline extends to today (unless the GRIB ended more than 2 days ago). The cursor then does reach the current time, but the GRIB has no forecast for that time: the solution is the same.
