Two messages can appear under a link's Port field, and they do not mean the same thing.
"Port already used by another input"
In red. Two NavimetriX links point at the same port, which is not possible: this one is not listening. Give it another port and the warning clears on its own.
The lowest-numbered link keeps the port, so the instrument link wins over an additional one. Also think of the Relay port if you use re-broadcasting on the local network: it must differ from the ports you listen on.
"Port also used by another app"
In orange, and this is not an error. Another program is listening on that port on the same machine. Two cases:
- If your gateway broadcasts its data to the whole network, which is the most common case, both programs receive everything and there is nothing to do.
- If it sends to a single recipient, only one of the two programs will get the data. Close the other application.
This message is often what explains a correctly configured link that receives nothing.
Nothing arrives at all
First check that you are on the right WiFi, the gateway's and not the marina's, then that the NMEA switch is on, then that the port matches your hardware's manual. The NMEA console at the bottom of the page settles it: if sentences scroll there, the link is fine and the problem lies elsewhere. If it stays empty, run a scan and it will find the address for you.
